You need to think about what you want in a PU.  Go spend some time in each of the trailers, with the whole family.  Is there anything you want in a camper or don't want?  I don't like having the dinette in front of the bunkend.  My first PU had that and it was a pin when someone slept on the table and someone in the bed needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.  Ask questions and take your time checking the trailers out.  Ask questions here too.  What will you use for a tow vehicle (TV)?  The general rule of thumb is to only tow 75% or what your vehicle is rated for. :)

Welcome Richard,

Both units that you are looking at have a proven track record.

Just be cautious of the '99 Cheyenne roof. This model was part of the Coleman Grand Tour series that used the Strata ABS roof that had a tendency to  warp, bow, crack, or delaminate.

I have both the 1995 and the 1999 Coleman sales brochures with all the vital statistics for all their models. If you like, I can scan the specs pages and e-mail them to you for additional information.

But you did not mention two of the most important items to help choose the proper PU for you and your family.

tlhdoc pretty much nailed these items.

First and formost is the limiting towing weight of your vehicle. Really no sense getting excited about a model, only to find you can't tow it.

Second is just what is the minimum sleeping capacity needed to fit your needs, items that are a must to be included in the unit for you and your family, and then what options would be nice to have. You mention the lack of restrooms in both models. Would the lack of this option be a deal killer? These are the questions only you can answer.

Once you have the answers to these important items, then it's time to go PU shopping.

Hope this helps, and good luck in your search for the perfect PU for you and the familly.

Hello Richard,

I have six pages total scanned from the 1999 Coleman Brochure ready to e-mail. Need you to set your profile up to receive e-mails momentarly.

The six pages that I scanned (pages # 8 thru # 13) have the specifications, floor plans.... this page has the base prices written on them for 1999, exploded view of the PU, and the special features included in all the Coleman line PU's.

Send me a e-mail at hoppy5@bellsouth.net when you are ready to receive them.
