lookin at a palomino hardside (from an add) model unknown but bunkends ccanvass need a reality check:
1. is this  probably a one-peice, or split roof?
2. any chance an 89 is roof air capable?

thanks,

hoppy

As I recall, the '89 Palomino had a aluminum sandwich roof with three seams running in the direction of the door to the back side of the camper. Roofs of this vintage were capable to support the weight of  A/C units.

You may want to contact Vangard Industries to confirm.

Vangard suffered a fire back in 1992 and a lot of the records were lost, but they may be able to help you anyway.

   Hope this helps ya' out.

Vanguard is always very helpful whenever I call them. I just get their number from their website.

However, if the camper has the spring-loaded lift arms for the roof that Palomino is known for, it will not support an air conditioner.

OTOH, Palomino makes a great camper!

Well as you can tell I am a Palomino owner.  More than likely you have the Mustang hard sided MXL version.  Does this model have support arms on the outside, or internal crank and inside rails?  These are made very well and I am  almost sure it will support an air conditioner, mine will.  I have a 1991 MXL and I love it.  Call Vangaurd Industries and see if they know!  Hope you get the Palomino they are great rigs, and you will really like the hard sides it's more like a Travel Trailer.

 Happy Camping!!!
