Hello everyone,

I'm just curious.  My family has been camping for many years.  We have been popup camping for the last four.  Our popup does not have a/c, and we have never needed it.  We do most of our camping in the White Mountains of NH.  Heat would be a nice option.  We have brought along a portable heater once or twice.  But a/c??  Does anyone else in this area find a/c necessary?

Thanks.

Beth

I never had it on my popup but I do have it on my hybrid. I can't remember if I used it last year or not. At least I can't remember if we used it here. I did take the camper to Disney last April and used it in FLorida.

I think I got a full sun site at one of the CG's up here last year and turned it on.......because I could.:)

I have used my furnace quite a bit though.

I used to tent camp up in that region about twenty years ago, (up around Conway, NH) and never needed A/C.

Moved down here to Georgia, and both my PU's had A/C. I  wouldn't camp down here in the summer with out one.

Went through 4 popups in 18 years of camping in the NH and New England area,  Never felt the need for a/c.  Generally, a couple of fans did the trick.

As for the furnace, yes, we had one in our last two popups.  May not have used it that much but when we did, it sure was nice.

We camped one fall when it got down to about 35 degrees.  We had two sets of friends tent camping with us.  One of the guys said he was about to come over and kill us all everytime the furnace came on.  I gave him a cup of coffee to warm him up.

We do most of our camping in Ontario and the Northeast U.S. We have never felt the need for ac. We bring along a floor fan for those hot days and that seems to work very well.

Perhaps, but was your tent even wired for A/C?  :D
