I know you snow bunnies up North are used to the white stuff but this is a real treat for those of us below the Mason-Dixon line.  Of course, it is also dangerous since most of us have no idea how to drive in this stuff but we insist on trying.  It looks like about 4"  of the white stuff has accumulated outside my window.  Winds are gusting up over 20 mph so it is coooooold!!!  Sure makes the world look beautiful though.

slowpezHey Susan, not too sure where you re from but you re right, winter is great and I love it!  Where I m from, Toronto Canada, our winters are usually pretty mild, there are major snow belts just south and north of us but I really enjoy a big burst of winter a couple of times a year.[:)]

slowpezYeah, we got probably an inch or so of snow here in northwest Georgia overnight. Walked out on the back deck this morning and the woods behind the house were blanketed with trace amounts still on the tree branches. Naturally this caused " winter storm advisories"  in the area, replete with warnings about not travelling unless absolutely necessary, school closings and just generally a great reason not to go to work...earl

slowpezWell, it has finally stopped snowing (I m in Columbia, SC) but we there is close to 4"  sitting on the ground out there.  The sun has finally come out and that means snow melt with the expected lows to dip to 12 degrees tonight.  Black ice tomorrow.  Needless to say, the whole town has shut down which is just as well.  You northerners laugh but you must remember, we just aren t used to this kind of weather and the city isn t really prepared to do all the sanding, etc. that you guys take for granted.  They do a pretty good job all things considered though.  Sure is pretty.  I m from Ohio originally so it is kind of nice to see snow once in a while.
