Does anyone have a Fantastic Ceiling Fan in there pop up?  What do you think of it.  It says it will cool your trailer to close to ambient temperature in short time.  Here's the one I have been eyeing  at camping world.  Is it worth the $140.00 it has a thermostat and turn itself on when it gets warmer in the trailer.  I just wanted to hear from someone who has the Fantastic fan and no AC.....does it help??

Never had one in our PUP's but we have one in our "5th".  It's pretty quiet and will suck the air right out of the trailer if we let it go too long.  Got to be careful with this if we have the heat or AC on.  Great for clearing cooking oders and bringing the inside temp down if the trailer's been shut up in the sun with the AC "off".  Probably would get you down close to ambient, particularly if the trailer is in the shade.  Our's is a 3-speed, manual version but I know there are others.  Can't see you going wrong with one.

Good luck and happy camping!

Yes they are worth it.  Sal put one in our PU and it made a world of difference.  We didn't have AC either.  Ours was also manual and it really did the trick.  You could see it sucking in the canvas so we had to crack a window so nothing would rip.  Then we used those small individual fans for over the dinette and the bunks.  I don't see you going wrong with one either.

I had one in my popup and it worked great. I would close everything up at night except for cracking the tenting on the bunkends a little, this would draw the breeze across you.

It worked well reversing it to blow air in too. After washing my camper I would close everything up and set the fan to blow in. It would inflate the bunkend tenting enough that is round the ends and the water poured right off.

I got mine here.

Wow it would really move the canvas that much huh?  I think that I am going to get one, I have a 9 x 9 opening.  The Fantastic fan is 14 x 14, I think I am going to have to cut the hole bigger.  Any sugestions on what type of saw or type of blade.  I was think jig saw cause it does not bounce as much as a saws all.  I probably should tape the underside to prevent ripping the plastic ABS ceiling.  Any great thoughts??

Well, I dont have the roof mount model, I have the table top box model Fantastic Fan.

All I can say is that thing can move some air!

I can imagine if it were mounted in a roof vent it would suck in the canvas.

We love it for times when we are dry camoing and need to cool off.

We also have the table top version and it has saved us on a few muggy nights...  Also, during the great blackout of 2003, that fan was all we had for a few days before we got power back.  I love it!

I second everyones comments. We have the tabletop and wouldn't part with it.

I have bought many things from the PUT store and they have always been of great quality and price and the service has been wonderful.  Also, shipping is free.  Plus, I really like to support PUT. :)
