We have been looking for a used PU for a couple of years now, and I think I have finally found one that will meet the family needs. I just need some input as to whether this is a good deal or not.

It is a 1999 Jayco Heritage Laurel, fully loaded, new tires for $5900. The inside is immaculate. It does not even look like the bath/shower have ever been used. Stove/Refridgerator are clean. Current owner installed a new faucet with a higher neck. All doors/drawers work perfectly. No stains, tears or issues with the canvas/cushions/materesses. Door seals very well. There seems to be a leak in the trunk, but I believe it is just a bad seal on the gasket which could be easily fixed. Also, the clips that hold the roof tight when closed show some rust, but I assume this is typical, and they can either be replaced or brushed and repainted.

Are there some other things I should look at? System test that should be run (i.e.: furnace, water, etc.)? Any help is greatly appreciated. Would like to make an offer this week if everything checks out.

Here in the Pacific NW, used trailers are few and far between, especially those with an inside shower/bath (a requirement of the DW and DDs).

Thanks for your input.

If you are happy with the product and price it is a good deal. It sounds as though you are being fairly cautious.

Jump in with both feet and never look back. I bought my pup from ebay because of a lack of available units in my area. Just keep in mind that used means "used". It wont be perfect, but it will be "yours"

I remember seeing a very extensive checklist in one of the forums here on PUT.  It went over all the things to look at when buying a used PU.  I did a little searching but couldn't find it, maybe some else knows the locatin or you could do some advance searching.  Good Luck!!  And Happy Camping!!

There is also a checklist on page 24 of the new PUT.  Happy trails!!
