My husband and I put our pop up up today. Apparently, the seal around the top is cracked and dry rotted. That we can fix and reseal. My real problem was as we opened it, water poured in that had been sitting on top from a heavy rain last night. The good news is that the seals didnt seem to crack until we fooled with it this morning so it was all new water that trickled onto the bedding, curtains and sofa. I took the curtains down and started them in the wash as I have done before, but I am worried about putting the bedding cover and sofa covers in the washing machine. I unzipped the covers, took the foam out to dry immeadiatly. The bedding and sofa covers are heavy fabric on one side but a type of canvas on the bottom side. I just wanted to make sure that I would not damage the material if washed and then hung out to dry. The pop up is a 97 Jayco if that helps any. Thanks for any help with this that you can give.

Instead of washing them in a machine why not wash by hand. You could let them soak for a while and then  rinse out...This would be alot easier on the older fabric tnan a machine would be.....

If they are just wet I would just let them dry and then put them back on.  If you need to wash them I would do it by hand and let them air dry.:)

Thank you all for your suggestions. I called the local RV dealer and he informed me that I could indeed wash them in the machine. I did just that and they came out great. It was not a hassle to get the foam back in either. Luckily, just the outside material had gotten soaked and very little on the foam. I let those dry in the sun. Then we recaulked the pop up! Now we can go to Talladega!!!! Go Jr!!!

I washed mine (at the laundromat) with no problem, and that's out of an '86 Starcraft that has seen better days. Plan on replacing them soon with something more contemporary, but for now the '80's style floral will do.
