Hello, everybody!

I am new to Pop UPs and to message board poting as well, so please bear with me.  I recently bought a 2005 Rockwood Freedom from a nice old lady who was selling it for her son.  Unfortunatly, she new as little about popups as I do.  I know that most campers have their batteries installed in boxes on the tongue of the trailer.  My camper does not have anything there other than the propane tank.  I have found the power condverter under the seat in the Dinette.   Is there some "hidden place" on this type of camper where the battery might be hiding?  If there isn't a battery, how do I safely install one?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Our battery is on the tongue. I have an extra battery that I hook up when dry camping. You might contact Rockwood to find out where they normally put the battery.

We, too, just purchased a pop-up, although it is a 2001 Coleman/Fleetwood Westlake from an elderly couple.  Seems they never had a battery mounted (no mounting brackets) so we are trying to find out about this matter, too (what all is needed, how to hook it up, etc.).  Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

On the Coleman/Fleetwood trailers the battery goes on the tongue of the trailer.  There is a hole on the frame of the tongue of the trailer where 2 wires come out.  One black positive wire, one white negative wire both going into a plastic connector.  You need to buy a wire harness from a Fleetwood.  It has 2 wires, black positive and white negative with the matching connector for the wires on the tongue of the trailer.  There is also a auto resetting circuit breaker on the positive wire.  The loose ends of the wires attach to the battery.  I hope you understand what I described.  The wire harness shouldn't be more than $20.:)

Thanks Tracy - we are slowly becoming familiar with all the different areas and found the wires and hole.  We also ordered a mounting bracket for the battery and the wire harness.  Hubby figured out where to mount it, so by next week we should be good to go.  Thanks.
