Justr spent a weekend at this state park. We stayed in the upper Savanna camp ground and we will base the review on this.

Camp ground is less than an hour drive from Minneapolis so is very handy for a weekend get away.

Sites are large and well spaced. Non of the sites I observed looked difficult to back into, even for the large motor homes. Plenty of brush to seperate the sites. Tree cover for shade is hit and miss although the park is trying to add more trees. Obviously this will take numerous years before they are shade worthy.

Bathrooms are large and clean. They have seperate houses for the showers and they also had a large family bathroom. Plenty of hot water for the showers and the shower stalls were a good size. Only complaint was no way to dry hands in bathrooms. No paper towels nor a blower.

Park has plenty of nice walking trails, fishing pier, small sand beach, canoe rental (although you drive or take a shuttle to Interstate to start the journey - plan to spend $35 for a 7 mile paddle to Osceola or $35 for the 17 mile paddle back to William O'Brien).

All in all a great park so close to the Twin Cities.
