Quote from: PITPOP27Ok so looked into these and they don't have my trailers measurements, does that mean I have to measure my bunk ends myself or they wont have the covers for mine?

Check out the home page for PUGizmos. The top right yellow box says they have in stock all 1999 and newer Coleman/Fleetwood covers. What year is your trailer? A 2000 then he has it in stock.:)

So I showed these to my husband, and he asked me wht they did I told him and he said he let's just do the same thing with the huge tarp from Costco.  Now what is t he real difference between these and a tarp (heavy duty industrial, excellent tarp BTW). so I can share that with hubby.

The main difference it the reflective surface.  Most tarps are at best gray, no silver and actually absorb the heat, not reflect it.  We use the Cabela's blankets (very similar to the PU Gizmo's) and last summer did some measurements with and without.  Heat diffenrence with, was about 12-15 degrees in the covered bunk as oposed to the un covered.  With a couple of 12v fans, we were quite comfortable.  We would not leave home without them.

Can I push him on the subject for winter as well?  We're thinking Yosemite is going to be COLD! :frosty:

The Gizmos cover just the bunk ends and they lay flat on the surface. As was stated before, they reflect the Sun's rays away from the top and the colored ones absorb the Sun's rays. Trust us, there's a big difference.

The big tarp is ugly as sin and will keep you awake all night if there is the slightest breeze. The Gizmos make no noise because they attach so directly and will take a lot of wind before they become a problem. I understand that you can get the "High wind" clips with it. I would suggest that for beach camping. We go a couple times a month and I would say that the wind can be an issue on about 50% of the trips, in the winter.

Tell your hubby that these are well worth the investment. I waited and debated and after a particularly hot campoutin full sun, we decided to get them, and I must say, of everything we've bought for the trailer, this is the best investment. It makes a huge difference in the heat factor (10-15 degrees is huge), which helps our AC not to have to work so hard. It keep the bunkends bird-doody and tree sap free, it keeps the bunk darker so I can sleep in (if the neighbors cooperate). Best part about it is you can wash them and put them right back in the trailer for next time. The tarps look like (I'm sorry in advance to anyone I offend - Wavery) the Beverly Hillbillies are camping nearby! Nothing but the best for your Justin (as in Timberlake). I crack myself up!

Hey, how'd you know my nickname already? :sombraro:  :screwy: I think I will be pushing for them!

OC Campers

We also own these.  Yes, they are a bit pricey but well worth it!!  They keep the bunk ends insulated much better than a tarp.  We also like them because they keep the tenting clean too.  I know tarps would do this too but TRUST US!!!  If you are not sure, try the cooler cover.  It is made out of the same material but is made for your cooler.
