Folks,

When buying a new car these days we know that the MSRP on the window is not what we are going to pay. If we do, Oh Well, lets go on. My question is on the trailers. I have had many dealers state me the MSRP price and then include options on top of that. Is this the procedure ? Do we pay MSRP on the new trailers or do they have room to go downward? I do know when I got my Utah it went up and then downward below the MSRP. Any Help, thoughts or comments ?

When Cheryl and I boughht our "ROO", the dealer had the MSRP and their price marked on the trailer.
We negotiated from there.
This was our experience, your mileage may vary, depending on your dealer.
Good luck.

The S in MSRP is for "suggested", so there's definitely room to go down from there. I've even heard of some dealers discounting options as well.

For me, the bottom line is the only thing I care about. Tell me the MSRP, and add in all the options I want, and let's see that price (so I know what the whole deal stickers at). Then, let me know what my out-the-door price is. If it's good -- say 15% or 20% off -- I'm happy. If not, I'm gone. For me, it's that simple (I don't play games with them, and I let them know that up front, so if they jerk me around they see me leave).

That's my take on it too - 15-20% off MSRP is reasonable - I won't stay if they say "This deal is only good today."

MSRP is a joke. Depending on the dealer they may go below the MSRP by quite a margin.

When I was buying my Trail Cruiser from RVWholesalers, the Credit Union that I do my financing through was faxing back and forth about finding an MSRP for the unit so they could figure the value (it was a new unit, and NADA doesn't have current model year info). Turns out there really isn't a MSRP, the dealer kind of make them up. There is a dealer cost, and what ever his mark-up is will be the MSRP. We went at this for nearly 3 weeks before the dealer came clean about this little factoid. Perhaps some makes do have an MSRP, but I know that R-Vision products don't have them!

K-Z has MSRP for their units and will email a spreadsheet that has the base unit price and the upgrade MSRP costs too!

We've been looking for a long time and finally pulled the trigger in July.
Expected contruction last week of August... may have it by Labor Day.
Next Rally we're signed up for Olema Alone - but if others are organized...?

Will you be at Olema?
We really looking forward to having a sofa to sit on and dinette to eat on without having to convert to a bed every night!
We will miss our little towlite though....:(

When we bought our 2003 Kiwi 23B the MSRP was $15,999 and the only options it didn't have was power slide out, oven, and the abs tubsurround. The show price was $13299 we then talked them down another $300 and got them to install my equalizer hitch and wire up the prodigy for "free" our final price was $12999 plus tax.

I'm not sure all dealers deal, I've heard some people in TX say they paid $17999 plus tax. I guess it depends on the time of the year and what kind of inventory they may have???

They had our Jayco TT priced at 21K, when all the dust settled we paid $15,800. So they have alot more room than they let on. The dealer closest to my home was at $16,900 and firm. I drove 95 miles to Riverside, Ca. to buy mine. Was the drive worth an $1,100 savings? I think so. The moral is, go to different dealers, it may save you even more $$ than you think.
