Back from the maiden voyage and all went great!  The Fleetwood worked without a problem ... A/C, hot water, shower ... all perfect.  The weather was spectacular and we had a blast.

The weekend started off a little rough: in a rush and back the hitch on my Tacoma into the tongue of the trailer.  Hit hard enough to bend the steel so it wouldn't fit over the ball on my hitch.  :swear:  My wife quickly escorted my son indoors when she saw the vein pop out on my forehead.  Thirty minutes of prying and got it all to fit again.  (my first real personal stress test as I stopped smoking last Monday ... i passed! :# ).

Sway bar and power brakes all worked perfectly, and the new door handle I got from Peco made it through the weekend.  We are looking forward to a longer trip over the 4th of July.

Thanks again to everyone's input as I shopped around for the camper and accessories - very informative - great site!

HAPPY CAMPING!!

I am from Georgia as well and went on our first trip in April.  Have a long trip planned over the 4th weekend.  First trip was a bit trying as we pulled to camp site, found we had to back the PU 100 ft. or so, between 2 trees with about six inches to spare on either side, if that, just to have it start pouring on us with a 2 year old and springer spaniel.  Once we finally got set up, we were good to go.  Where did you go on your first trip?  Good luck in the future!

We just went to Victoria Campgrounds on Lake Allatoona - about a 15 minute drive from our house. The trip was only Fri and Sat night and we didn't want to spent a day driving in each direction.  Friendly people - nice beach.  Close enough for a nice quick weekend away.

Looking forward to the Fall when we'll hit the North Georgia Mountains.

Glad to hear that the PU did great, and that door handle survived the weekend.
Keep a spare one with you at all times.

Fall is also my favorite time of year for the PU. No AC sound, window flaps open allowing in the fresh air at night.... what more could you ask for.
