Where to begin...
Planned trip...Shasta Lake 7/1-7/4
Meet in-laws Thousand Trails Pacific City 7/4-7/8
How it went:
In-laws left Los Angeles 6/27
They arrived in Crescent City,CA with a non usable TV 6/29
They were pulling a 5'er and using a '89 F150, the TV petered out.
They bought a brand new GMC Sierra and had to have a new hitch installed
DW and I left 7/1 arrived At Shasta Lake no problems.
Recieved cell phone call about inlaws troubles and they told us trip to Pacific City cancelled as they could not make it there.  Bummer!
recieved another call next day stating that they had found an opening at an RV park in Brooks Landing,OR.. [:D][:D]
(I do not reccomend this place even if it is on the beach.) They did have a great fireworks display put on by the city!
But we would have to pull up camp  and drive up to OR. that day. No problem it was like 96 degrees.
The GMC dealer let them keep the old truck to get trailer to Walmart and that is where it sat until Thurs day this week. The inlaws stayed in a hotel near where we were in OR.
Thursday is when the mechanics had the trailer hitch in the truck (a week later). They installed it incorrectly and there was too too much slap in the hitch/kingpin. Shop said they could order another hitch from Ontario,CA.
That is about 30 miles from where the in-laws started in L.A.. Another week wait for them!
FIl found a guy in OR to do it and could get the hitch quicker and the old shop would give FIL credit for the hitch, not labor, when he returned it.
So here they are 12 days in and still not in their trailer and all. And they are still there!!! Till at least Wednesday.
They moved into our spot Sat when we left.
When we were leaving... FIL after all the good byes and all summed it up "At least we were campng!" God bless him.

Boy what a story!  Looks like old Murphy was at it again.  It's good that FIL had the camping attitude.  Good luck to them.
