Brake controller recomendation?

I want to install a brake controller in my truck. Now the problem is that I do not have space around the dash board where I can install the controller itself. The car is an Isuzu Trooper.
But I have seen somewhere that there are controllers that can be installed anywhere (e.g. under tha seat) and which come with a kind of remote for the control.
Does anybody have a link to these kind of brake controllers and where to buy them for a good price?

Thanks
Stefan

On all of my travel trailers and fifth wheels that I have owned, I always installed a Prodigy brake controller by Teknosha. It is easy to install, easily adjustable, and presents a smooth stop between the tow vehicle and the trailer.

Drawtite does make a remote brake control, but it's a time delay controller and not worth the powder to blow it up.

The Prodigy controller is small enough that it will fit on most any dash and can be installed at 70 degrees off horizontal.

I have a Tekonsha Voyager on one of my trucks and a Prodigy on the other.  I prefer the Prodigy hands down.  Worth the extra $$ IMO.

I have the prodigy installed on my Pathfinder under the dash.  Once its set you can just about forget about it.  It does a very good job.

I bought my prodigy at http://rvwholesalers.com/catalog/home.php which seemed to have a pretty fair price for it. There may well be other places, if you are willing to search long enough, who have it for even less. I got it fairly soon after I ordered from the place. It was recommended to me by someone on the forum who had also used them.
I simply could not find a place on my vehicle that worked for me to install it so I went to a little bit of a strange (but ingenius, if I do say so myself) solution: I bought one of the cheap sizeable plastic cupholder inserts at Wally world and cut off all the plastic prongs which would ordinarily hold the cup. Then I bolted the prodigy onto the cup holder surface. Now I just set the prodigy/cupholder into the truck when I tow (into one of the existing cupholders), size it up tight, plug it in, and go. I unplug the prodigy, yank the cupholder with the prodigy attached out of the truck when I am done towing for both security and to get it out of the way.

Our prodigy is mounted to a plastic rectangle that fits in the track slots of the ashtray in our minivan. When we are not using it we just unplug the connector ,tuck it in and replace the ashtray.Very slick and easy to reach and see :D .

I removed my ashtray and installed the brake controller in that location. Saved me from drilling holes in the dash and it fit nicely. I have the Tekonsha Voyager.

My next controller will be the BrakeSmart controller. It is supposed to beat the Prodigy hands down. Problem is they are backordered a bit now.

Thanks all. Since everybody is recommending the Prodigy I am going with it. Bought it from a dealer on Ebay for $97 incl. shipping.
The idea with the ashtray sounds good. I have to check out mine if it would fit.
