forgive me if this has been asked already, i'm new.  we have a 79 starcraft galaxy, it doesn't have a/c currently, but we have discussed installing it.  as far as upgrading any electronics what do i need to do. i don't know the capacity of what i currently have, right now i have a 30,000btu furnace, 4 lights and two outlets. this last weekend we ran t.v., microwave, two fans, and lights all at once without tripping any breakers (i'm not wanting to max out my current system, i want to be safe) anyway, your thoughts and suggestions are greatly apprecieatted, thanks.

Are you planning on installing a roof top AC unit or a traditional AC unit?  If you are thinking of a roof top unit, you should contact Starcraft to check if the trailer's roof will support the weight of the AC unit.:)

I would be very surprised that the roofs of that vintage PU would be built to support the weight of the ceiling mounted AC units.

My 78' Palomino came with a 5K BTU window style unit built through the back wall of the PU.

The AC was wired to it's own 20 amp service also. The rest of the PU was powered off the original 15 amp service.

I am surprised that you were able to run the T.V., microwave, and the fans all at once without tripping a breaker. The four ceiling lights are 12 volt and powered by the converter, so that didn't play into the 110 AC draw.
