Well we are ready to go. The pup is all packed. This is the first time I can remember that I
am actually excited about going to work. It means we are a day closer
to leaving next saturday (23rd). Anyway we will be heading to Tahquamenon Falls for 3 days. While there we will go to Oswalds Bear Ranch and on a criuse
to see Pictures Rocks. Then we head over to McClain State park for a
week. A lot of sight seeing since my kids have never been to
Keweenaw. The maybe, just maybe we will head over to the Porkies for
a week. I hope the rain holds out and it will be cooler than it has
been here in old Walled Lake. If it does rain....who cares. I'm
still camping, in the woods and in the glorious U.P.

Have a great trip.  My MIL lives in the Houghton-Hancock area and we get to visit her next year.  Unfortunately, not camping.  Some day we will get our camper up there.  Michigan has a lot of gorgeous campgrounds.  I am a Michigander originally and have a lot of fond memories camping around the state.

Be sure to take the boat trip for pictured rocks, it's only 7.00 or 8.00 per person and you'll need a lot of film 'cause it's beautiful. Have a great time.

See Jacqui, I knew there was something I liked about you!! I am a transplanted Michigander myself.  I hope to get back there next summer for an extended vacation. I sure miss the beauty that is Michigan, especially in the fall.

Hey!  If you all have a Transplanted-Michiganders-Now-Living-In-CA-Rally next summer in the UP, I'd drive over to join you!  ... I bet ForestCreature would too!  LOL

Happy Camping, Starcraft Dad.  I love the UP ~ still have to get my camper up there, though.

Lumberdude, it must have been a while since you've been on the cruise. It is now $29 but we still will be going on it.

My new digial cameras card holds 1400 pictures so I will have plenty. Plus I have another card and the digital video camera.

Here is a great site for those of you that are wondering what Pictured Rocks are.

Lake Superior has a very unique shoreline.  From rocky cliffs to sandy beaches and towering sand dunes.

Hey Larry, good to see you back on the boards.  Yup, I was born in Royal Oak.  Most of my family now live in Sterling Heights area and Ann Arbor.  I actually would love to move back there but Randy is a California native.  But hey, we have made our way north, now we just have to move a little east:p :) .

My parents and I (kids too) are going to do Amtrack to Ann Arbor next summer.  Randy will fly in and then we will drive to the UP.  I am very excited.  It has been 5 years since I have been back.

Kelly--I would love to do a reunion campout in the UP but man that is a long way from Northern California (unless I can drop-ship my popup and fly to meet it.:yikes: )
