Well, I made my first weekend trip in my popup & must say it's quite an upgrade from tent camping (which I think has it's place & time).  We had such a good time, & stayed comfortable.   The small A/C (800btu) really makes a diffrence. We slept so much better, prepared food easier, even brushing our teeth was made easier by the popup.  The extra shade/shelter provided by the awning was a nice touch as well. I'm so pleased that I decided to make the switch.

I do have a few question.
The A/C did it's job nicely by while it Keeping the camper cool & dry inside - however it ran all weekend on high cool.  the compressor sound like it runs in 2- 5mins sessions, then off for about the same amount of time.  I was wondering if it's okay to run the A/C like this all weekend or possibly longer. Are there any special maint that need to be done to an A/C that runs this much.

The PO told me he had just replaced the seal around the A/C.  How can I look to see if this is a fact.

The same above mentioned person told me to leave the trailer a little unlevel so the A/C condensation can run off the back or rear of the P/U.  Is this true?  Can not having the trailer level cause problems in the lift system or rails?

    What a blast!

First off, let me congratulate you on your very successful maiden trip. Hope everyone there after is as good as the first.

As for the AC cycling on and off, this is the proper operation of the AC. If the compressor was allowed to continue running, the evaporator coil would freeze in high humidity conditions, (like night time in a forest) and warm air would blow out of it. Two to five minute intervals sounds just about right to me.

As for tilting the PU "slightly" to direct the water off the roof to the back of the PU, this is a common practice with most of us. I made a gutter system out of 1 1/2 thin walled PVC pipe that I slide between the roof seal and the bunk tent to keep the water from running down the tent material.

 Hope this helps

Congratulations on the new PU.  It sounds like your first trip went very well.  I remember our first trip in a PU and it was such an improvement over the tents.  We were camping at the beach and it was raining and windy.  We could cook, play cards, etc.:)
