I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the ends for awning posts. These are the plastic ends which go in the end of the post and they have a projection which then goes into a hole on the horizontal awning bar. These are very typical ends used in various locations.

Any help would be great!

If you cannot find the new ends, you can solve the problem like I did for a friend and make your own..Determine the inside diameter of the pole, usually they are  about 3/4" to 7/8"...Cut a piece of dowel  of the same size to about 1-1/2" long...A piece of broom or mop handle will work well too.. The diameter of the piece should be a little large so it can be trimmed or sanded down for a snug  fit into the end of the pole...After doing this, drill a hole slightly smaller than the thread diameter of a 1/4" bolt into one end of the new plug. Hole should be about 1/2 to 3/4"  deep...This can be done very easily on a drill press.. If you do not have a drill press, a hand drill will work fine..Be sure to hold the plug with a pair of pliers or vice grips while drilling.....Install the new dowel into the end of the awning pole. A little Goop or contractors cement will help make a tight fit...Also, a small round head screw can be installed in the side of the pole into the plug to hold it in place...Thread a 1/4"diameter hex head bolt into the hole in the dowel to about 1/2" and then cut off to the proper length...A 1/4 X 20 course thread bolt works great for this...much better than a fine thread one..Bolt can also be installed in the plug before inserting it into pole, which ever is easiet..........Hope this will help.......

You local Fleetwood dealer sells them for about two bucks a piece.

They sell quite a few of these things since they are used on both the awning ridge poles and on the ends of the sheppard's poles also.

You can go to //www.fleetwoodrv.com and do a dealer search.

Or you can make them like posted above.

The nice thing about the made up ones is that they don't break again..........

One of my poles had the nub break off. I simply drilled a small hole into the remaining plastic piece, and screwed a small pan head screw into it.

I had a friend of mine make some new ones for me out of aluminum. He has a lathe and I just bought one new one and had him make copies of it out of solid aluminum. I had to do this right away when I bought the camper used because the previous owner had broken all three of them for the awning roof poles. They have been in use since 1996 and I have not had a broken one yet. I also had him make two extra ones for the shepards poles in case I broke one of the origional ones on them, but as of yet I have not had a problem with the plastic ones on the shepards poles.
