Safety Product Alert - Immediate Action Required

TO: All Clipper Dealers

RE: IDT Roof Lift System

Dear Clipper Dealer:

WARNING : DO NOT OPERATE THE IDT ROOF LIFT SYSTEM ON CERTAIN CLIPPER FOLDING CAMPERS

Viking RV has determined that there is a safety issue on certain folding campers manufactured by Viking RV. On this units the Innovative Design Technologies, Inc. ("IDT") roof lift system is defective and may fail allowing the roof to collapse unexpectedly. The models affected are as follows:

Model Year Make Serial Number Range
2004 Clipper 2722 through 2771
2004 Clipper 2557 through 2581
2005 Clipper 0100 through 4379
2006 Clipper 0100 through 1240

Until further notice, we are asking dealers immediately to stop delivery of any of the affected units that may be in your possession. Additionally, do not display any of the affected units with the roof open or demonstrate the lift system to customers.

We are working hard for a solution so our customers can resume product delivery as soon as possible and address units already sold. Similar notice is being send to all original retail customers, directing them to contact local dealers for corrective remedy. We anticipate having a solution available shortly. We will settle only for a qualified reliable solution that our customers can use with confidence. We encourage you to contact Viking RV should you have any questions or concerns. Additional communication will follow in the next few days.
