Here is the post that followed my link to the video:

I have seen this several times before on other sites, perhaps someone could find one that excersises more self control (i.e. is more family-friendly).

Second, while this appears funny, it was a very dangerous event. Woefully inadequate tow vehicle, woefully inadequate brakes, and woefully inadequate driver, in no particuar order.

He/she got very lucky that:
* there were no pedestrians between the point of absolute failure and the point of end of momentum.
* there was a place where there could be an end of momentum before going "over the edge."
* they were able to find that point of end of momentum, whether by intention (not likely) or luck (most likely).

This is proof that woefully inadequate tow vehicles are self-correcting situations. What I'd like to know is what the dealer told them about their tow vehicle.

Now, since this post it has been made known that it was just taken too seriously and not a big deal. But at first it seemed like I made someone a bit upset.  It is in the General Forum and the post is called Funny Video if you want to read it in it's entirety.

Well, I just thought it was pretty darn funny. Life is not much without laughter. :J  (Then again, I'm known to have a fairly warped sense of humor... LOL!)

TheViking: My primary issue with your (now old and dead) post wasn't with the video, but with the site it came from (That video has been hosted all over the internet).  Before the video was done loading, I got three pop-up ads that would have left a Victoria's Secret clerk blushing, and that was with a pop-up blocker running.

It is funny.  I just wanted folks to remember that we have to take ratings and towing seriously.  I had an incident many years ago that probably would have looked just as funny on video.  But it would be a video I could never watch, because my stupidity came close to rolling my trailer and tow vehicle, and could have killed an unknown number of people.  You can read all about it in Swaying Towards Disaster.

Be safe.
Have fun.

On a more serious note, thank you for posting the link to your article. It has some very useful information, especially for someone like me who is new to towing. Thanks for taking the time to write it and share your experience, harrowing as it was!

Got ya.  I don't know where the pop-ups came from though. The link was sent to me from a friend, I never got any pop-ups.  I'm also sure it won't be the last time that video shows up.
