Don't know if you have seen this at your stores but i have found pre cooked bacon.  All you have to do is heat it up. This has been a must have for us when camping.  No more greasy pans to wash!

I'll have to check this out.  It sounds like a great idea.

My wife bought some of the pre-cook bacon a few months ago and I have to say it is pretty good for "pre-cooked" bacon and quick and easy! Haven't thought of using it for camping but after reading the post I plan to. Great idea!

I have seen it and have tried it, however, we think it is pretty thinly sliced. I make my own. I usually "bake" about 3 lbs. before we leave on a camping trip. I purchase our bacon from WinCo Deli or Albertson's meat counter. You pay a little more, but it doesn't srink up to nothing; you still have bacon after it's cooked. Here is how I do it:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a large cookie sheet/jelly roll pan (one with sides so drippings don't come off of pan) with foil. Place the bacon on the cookie sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes depending on how crunchy you like your bacon. We like it soft so I usually check it at about 15 minutes and cook it for 20 minutes. When done the way you like it, drain off the drippings and place on several layers of paper towel to absorbe the grease. When that paper towel gets full, layer more paper towels and bacon on top, until done. After the bacon is cold, I take a fresh paper towel and put about 12 pieces (or how many you use for 1 meal) inside it and roll it up like a burrito and put into a zip lock bag. Repeat until bacon is all wrapped up and in the bag. Store in the refrigerator. When camping, or at home, just pull out one rolled up bunch and zap in the microwave. To keep it warm, place in a styrofoam tortilla container (use this for pancakes also).

My husband likes to put 2 slices of bacon in a warmed tortilla and that is his breakfast.

Quick and easy and much better than store bought.

It works well, I did 2 lbs yesterday.. I work nites so mornings aren't my fav. DH can Zap a couple of pieces in the microwave for the kids. I also will make pancakes ahead of time. Dh can make them each a pancake and bacon breakfast in 30 sec.

All we eat around here is the pre-cooked bacon from Sam's Club.  We love it.  No grease, no burns from popping grease, no splatters on my wall near the stove.  I take it camping and warm it up in the frying pan (I don't take a microwave camping -- I believe in "roughing it"!)

Dee, my mom did daycare as I was growing up and she'd make about four loaves of french toast at once, put the cooked slices of bread back into the bread bags, and then for breakfast we just popped them in the toaster like you'd do for waffles.  It was great!  Something to think about.
