Hello all, just joined!

I just purchased my first pop-up, a 98 Rockwood 1980, and have spent the whole weekend doing the "used/new car" thing. (scrubing, cleaning, lubing, packing, scouring turning my hands red, thing) Spent the first night camping out on the driveway at the insistance of my boys.
My only quandery is what looks like mildew stains in the inside above the beds, that can only be seen while your inside looking thru the material. What can I use to clean these without damaging the fabric inside or the outside vinyl?

Thanks,
Darren McNeely

I just cleaned the inside of my camper with this.  It is 1/4 cup vinger 1/2 cup bleach and 1/4 cup hot water.  It worked wonderful just sprayed it on and took it right off.  Be sure to cover the beds so the bleach doesn"t get on the beds.  I is very strong so be sure to open all the windows.

Welcome to PUT.:)

What is the material, vinyl?  If you are not sure, contact Rockwood and see what they say to clean it with.

The mildew will come right off with a solution of 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water in a spray bottle.  My daughter has asthma and mildew is a no-no!  We had heavy dew one year in the Fall and the camper was up.  It did not get warm enough during the day to dry out the canvas hence the mildew all over the place!  Be sure to cover what's under it and wear old clothes...  You may have to rewaterproof the canvas (not the vinyl) with the waterproofing canvas spray that comes in a can.

The bleach and water works great to clean the mildew off and my daughter can breath easy when she sleeps in the camper.

I used to use a product called Starbrite Mildew Stain Remover, which was basically Bleach in a spray bottle. I believe it is the cause of the canvas panels weakening to the point of tearing VERY easily. Any bleach hitting the bed rails is also a bad thing!!!

I now use Woolite and it seems to work as well without stressing the fabric as much.
