Over the next couple days, Mars will be at or near it's closest proximity in a couple years.  If you got a telescope, haul it out and have a look-see.

There is a dust storm in view over much of the northern hemisphere of Mars right now that should be visible in even the smallest telescopes.

I was in Idyllwild, CA, last weekend with my daughter's 6th grade class for Astrocamp and we were able to use their very nice telescopes to view Mars, among other things.  You could actually see the red color through the telescope.  Very impressive.

were going Camping up to Lake Pleasent this weekend and friends of ours is coming up to and they told us the Astronomers class being there
