Does anyone know if America Outdoors in Key Largo, Florida, is still there?  Their web page is gone but there is still a phone listing on anywho.com for them.

We're hoping they didn't get wiped out by a hurricane!

American Outdoors was brought out by a development company, they no longer have thier website. They are still open for camping till April at which time a hotel's going up on the site. This is the price we pay for so called progress, my favorite campground Long Key SP is just south of AO but Katrina & Wilma really did a number on the sites. Most of the sand from the sites was pushed up to the road, the water lines and electrical boxes were out in the ocean. It's a major mess I'm headed down on Sunday for a meeting in Marathon and I'll stop by to see the progress and take some picture. They are hoping to reopen before Christmas.

DARN!!!  I had that one pegged as a place to go on my short list.  I have looked at lots of campgrounds in the Keys and this one had what I wanted.  Beach sites, full hookups (we need sewer now).  I have to overlook the parking lot ones as they do not appeal to me.  Then there are those that are for the big rigs only and will not accept PU's, hybrids, van campers, truck campers and A-liners and they also limit trailers under so many feet.    http://www.bluewaterkey.com/  Check this link, looks like a nice place, but they dont want our money and it is a RV resort, not a campground.

If you find anything else down there let us know here on the board.  I check the Campground reviews and am still trying to decide on something in the next few years.  That's how long it will take for me to save up to camp down there.
