I am going to buy an Adjustable Sway Control from Camping World for $37.99 on sale. My question is how hard is it to install myself, and if I can, are they hard to adjust. Camping World will install it for $68.00, but if I can do it myself thats money i can put towards my transmission cooler. Thanks...........Ed C.   :sombraro:

Seriously, I think my 9 year old daughter can install one.  I installed one on my pop-up and then one on my TT.  Adjusting is just as easy.  It comes preset, just tighten the lever so it's snug.  You can do it, save your 68.00.

One plate (with a small ball) needs to be bolted or welded onto the side of the trailer tongue and you need to install the second plate (with a small ball) between the draw bar and the ball on the hitch.  All of the parts should be in the kit.  Once the 2 plates with the small balls are installed, you loosen the sway bar so that you can adjust the sliding bar, put each end of the sway bar over the 2 small balls, put the sway bar pins on the ends of the sway bar then tighten the lever on the sway bar and you are done.  It takes a few trips to figure out how tight to adjust the sway bar.:)

NOTE:It is easier to put the sway bar on than it was to type this.

Theres a good chance that the draw-bar attachment point for the small ball isn't included in the kit. You'll need either of the below parts if it's not:http://www.draw-tite.com/  > Weight Distributing > Friction and Dual Cam Sway Control >  Bolt-On Sway Control Adapter P/N 3475 or Weld-On Sway Control Adapter P/N 3442

Camping World carries the bolt-on one but it's in the service dept. There are pluses and minuses to both attachment methods. The welded on adapter is permenent and will not loosen. One the other side of this, if you want to use another draw-dar, the adapter must be cut off and re-welded or a new one purchased. It's a lot cheaper than the bolt on adapter. The bolt on adapter will require a longer shank bolt on the main ball but is transferable to other draw bars and doesn't require welding.

As Brian and Tracy both said it's a simple, straightforward installation. If you call or stop by Camping World, they should be able to tell you if the weldable adapter comes with the kit.

Good luck!
