You all have been SO helpful.  Just wanted to say thanks again before I throw out my next question...

We are looking at two trailers this weekend, and one of the owners has told me that there is a water stain where some water got in a while back.  Is there any way to tell if this was truly a one shot issue?  Seems to be a red flag to me.  So, is there any way to tell if there is an ongoing issue with the roof by just looking at it?  What should I look for?

BTW, It's a 97 Jayco 10??  guessing 10UD from the pics.

I would ask them how they stopped the leak and check the roof area very carefully for a soft spot.  A seam can leak and then be fixed, but I would be very careful.  You don't want to have to replace the roof on your camper.:)

She speaks from experience.

The ONLY true way to check for leaks is to drive it around in a hard rain, and camp in it in a hard rain. Tracy's advice is the best, however, outside of doing all of the driving and camping (which would probably entail buying).

Thanks for the advice.  We are checking it out in a couple of hours.  Of course, it is a record 53 in sunny Utah today.  Hardly a cloud in the sky.
