When we got our new Fleetwood colonial last year we were given a Sidekick grill by the dealer that takes the place of the outside stove.  I really think that this is a very poorly designed piece of equipment.  I have used it several times and while it will cook adequately, cleanup is a pain in the behind.  It has a drip tray that nothing drips into and access to the bottom of the grill is poor making it difficult to clean adequately to even think about leaving this in or around the vehicle in bear country.  DW and I are trying to come up with a solution because I liked the idea and would like to make it work bur the execution leaves a lot to be desired.  I am on my way to the dealer today to pick up the outside stove to use anyway.  When you have campgrounds you frequent that are located in bear country there are just somethings that you don't cook inside your rig!  I want to keep my record of watching the bears walk by my camp to the other poor fools camp intact. :p

If you want the outside grill, how about picking up a Weber grill or a Coleman Roadtrip grill It won't have the convenience of connecting to the side of the PUP, but you might be able to get a hose that lets you connect to the grill fitting.

We love our outdoor high pressure stove one our Niagara. You're making the right choice to go with that. I also thing that, as Fritz suggested, a Roadtrip or BabyQ is the way to go. We have had the older roadtrip for a couple years and have decided to upgrade this year to the XLE which has porcelain/ cast iron grates. You can also get an extension hose that will allow you to use the high pressure propain hook-up for your outdoor stove and the grill.

I already have a roadtrip and really like it.  The problem I have is its size.  I don't take a whole lot of stuff with us when DW and I are camping anymore (oldest DD off at school and the other DD too old to be seen camping with her parents:yikes:) and one of the advantages of the little grill was just that - it was small enough to store under one of the sets in the dinette.  And if it had been well executed it would have been a really neat thing.

So back to the dealer we go to buy another stove.

Hey, that rhymes! I'm a poet and didn't know it :D

Another grill that looks pretty cool is the Cobb Grill  With just a small bag of charcoal, you are all set.

This doesn't really apply here, but another cool cookling gadget is the Coleman RoadTrip Slow Cooker  I think I'm going to get this for the geocaching picnics that I attend.  Very cool idea.

Allen,

Just a couple thoughts:

I'm with ya as far as the convenience of the little grill. The Road Trip is bulky and a pain in the neck to set up/ take down. Not sure what model you have, but we upgraded to the new XLE. Rather than a separate stand that needs to be set up/ brolen down, the XLE has an attached fold-up stand with wheels. I think it's gonna be easier to deal with. Although not necessarily smaller. The Weber is alot smaller, however. And it may fit under the dinnette seat. My BIL has one, and loves it. The couple times he's used it when I was around, it was pretty slick. I think there are a couple different sizes. And IIRC, the one BIL has should be small enough. Might check into it as an option.
