Would anyone be able to advise me as to whether $6,000 for a 2005 Fleetwood Colonial is a good price?  It has a furnace, fridge and awning as options. Thanks for any help......

Kind of depends on the condition.  However, I did a Google search on that model and came up with this one  and this one .

Is the unit new or used?  Where are you located?  West of the Mississippi prices are usually higher.  In 2005 My dealer in PA listed the Colonial with awning and refrigerator for $6,337.  So $6000 doesn't sound like a good price, especially if it is a used unit.:)

The Colonial is a new unit and I am located in Indiana.  Thanks again for your help.  I am a newbie at PU's as I have tent camped all of my life, so I am grateful for all advice that I get......

I've got to say I like my Colonial (aka Santa Fe).  Since the Colonial is now a "discontinued" model and is a 2005 "leftover" I would probably try to haggle the price down.

You might take a look at a new Santa Fe to get an idea of its pricing.  Fleetwood did away with the Santa Fe name (among others) several years ago renaming the unit Colonial until this year when they brought the Santa Fe name back.  Nothing changed but the name.

And remember that in the end what matters is do YOU feel like you got a good deal - and that often means more than just price.  You need to know the dealer will back you up and take care of you as well!

Good luck to you.

Hello....Newman...
New or used, I think that's a good price.  I paid $6995 for mine during the 2005 camping season.  Mine came with the 3-way fridge, furnace, awning, vanity mate, camper caddie, bottle/spare covers, 2 fan/light combos, 25 ft of water hose, gas grill, deep cycle battery and brake controller.  I took a look at the 2006 (now back to the Santa Fe name) and the only difference is chrome wheels(nice) and quilt-top mattresses(really, reallly nice).  But the cost went up about $300.  This 10 foot camper is just right for me, my wife and my golden retriever....well the golden probably could have used the 12 footer.  The Colonial is a pleasure to tow.  My only complaint is the beds are a little high off the floor.  Let us know what you decide.

One other thought - when you get this they'll offer you a gas grill or a stove for outside.  If I were you I'd get the stove.  The grill is a cheap piece of junk in my humble opinion and I just went and laid out $200 for the stove to replace it.  If I did it the other way around and got an equivalent grill from sporting goods  store it would have cost me only about $50.

As I said - just my opinion.
