We started out at Blair Valley on Tuesday, but it was cold and windy.  So, we went 1000 ft. lower to Tamarisk Grove.  What a mistake!!  This state campground is at a very busy (day and night), noisy intersection, and so shaded by the tamarisk trees that there is no view at all.  We could harldy see the sun...or the moon.  There are no hookups, but there are clean flush toilets and pay showers.  There were only a couple campers while we were there, but they piled in almost on top of us, because it is the only acceptable section of the campground.  To top it off, on the last day, the CDF came in with about 20 prisoners to clear brush, etc.  (Read that: chain saws)  Not peaceful, by any means.  All this for $20/night.  We should have opted for the wind and cold in beautiful Blair Valley!!

PS:  Forgot about the numerous scorpions!  Yuk!!
