My question is this. I have about 350 pounds on my tongue right now, which is the limit for my class 2 hitch, and I don't have the front compartment loaded yet. I have an air conditioning unit about 2/3 rds the way back on the roof of my Fleetwood Williamsburg. I have a yakima rack forward and on top in front of the air unit, with four "Raptor" racks attached to that. NOW;I want to know if anyone has tried this. I think I want to move the rack back and straddle the air unit, the weight of the rack will then be centered over the trailer axle, BUT, in order to do that I will have to put the two inner racks on in reverse so the handle bars wont interfere with each other. Will these "Raptor" racks work ok on the rack backwards? Hope I can hit someone that has encountered this problem. If not I would appreciate any good advice. Thanks....Bob.

I don't have the raptor style racks, but when I towed with the bikes on the roof I did have them alternate forward and backward.:)

I have the older versions of these on my 2002 Niagara.  They are very adjustable and will work any way you want to use them with whatever bikes you have.  The levers that lock onto the bikes are adjustable for either side and the tire clasps slide to where they are needed.  It is a very well designed product.  I have mine set somewhat to the sides for easy loading.  The center bikes go on with the front tire in the back of the trailer.  The outside bikes are facing forward so the handle bars don

Thanks B2 that is what I needed to know. I'm pretty sure that the styles of racks are very similar, the claw style and all. What you did is what I want to do also, put them closer to the edge for ease of loading and unloading. Thanks again and "THINK SPRING".
