Alabama/Florida Camping

    Sorry for posting here but I am hopeing to get a better response.  We are planning a trip to florida/Alabama in May.  Has anyone Camped in Gulf Shores since the huricane?  And we also looked at T H stone park.  Concerned about the FEMA trailers and general saftey issues as well as the overall condition of the park.  We would be coming from Chicago And with all the driving would like to make a good choice.  Thanks  Ken

Don't know about the Gulf Shores, but I strongly recommend swinging through the North Georgia Mountains on your way down (or back).  Unicoi or Vogel State Parks are beautiful year round, hundreds of waterfalls, access to the Appalachian Trail, beautiful small lakes, and Brass Town Bald - the highest point in Georgia - where on a clear day you just might be able to see the Sears Tower ... well ... maybe not THAT far, but you CAN see 4 different states from the look-out on top!
