I have been reading this forum for a while now and I finaly registered. There is a lot of great info in here. We have been pop up camping for a few years. We just sold our 2002 Coleman Sedona and bought a 2006 Jayco 1207. We have not got to camp in it yet so it looks like it's first trip will be to Talladega for the spring race. I am sure i will be back with a lot of questions. Talk to every one later.

Welcome aboard Mike and Michelle, this is a good place to be. We also have the 2006 Jayco 1207 and we just got it before Xmas. We took our maiden voyage with some of the SSCampers we met from this site, we went to the Mojave Narrows over Presidents Day week-end, It was COLD, but alot of fun, mostly due to the people we were camping with. Check out my web pics........Ed C. :sombraro:

we usualy camp at state parks here in Tn. My wife works for the state to we get half of the normal camping rate. We have a 7 day trip planed in June to go to KY Horse Park near Lexington. My brother is in dental school at KY so we are going up for a visit.

I wish PA would give me half off of the camping rates.  That is a nice benefit.  I wonder if any other states do that.  We usually camping in State or National parks.  For group trips we camp at some private campgrounds.  Enjoy your new PU.:)

believe it or not My wife mentioned late year at our stay at FT.Boonesbourgh state park in KY that she worked for The state of TN and they gave is a discount. I was not much but every little bit helps.

That is really cool.  Maybe I should tell park offices that I work for PA.:)

Welcome!
I noticed that you have a 2004 Dodge Durango (Hemi).  I have been thinking about buying one and wondering if you are happy with this SUV for towing and general use?  Any input would be great.

I wish NY would give us any percentage off anything.  But what can you expect from a state that will ticket you for talking on your cell phone while driving but allow eating, drinking (non-alchoholic), doing your nails, fumbling with the radio, reading, shaving, etc. behind the wheel.

SSSSSHHHHHHH, don't give them any ideas!

Welcome!  I'm a big fan of TN State Parks, too, even without the discount.  It's still pretty cheap to camp here.  If you haven't already found TPUC, please check out tpuc.com and camp with us.  Great group that is lots of fun.

We love our Durango it is great to tow with. With the Hemi you cant even tell the pup is back there. The only thing I am not happy with is the Hemi requires a tune up every 36000 miles. At the tune of about $400. Other than that we love it. It has the tow package with tranny cooler and larger mirrors and all that stuff. The 06 modles have a multi displacement engine ( i think thats what it is called) that shuts down to 4 cyl. on the highway. Makes gas milage a lot better
