Today, I went to the Big Lots store in Stuart.  Bought some plastic tiki cups, a couple a tiki torches and some citronella oil for them.  Haven't decided to buy the tiki tacky lights or the set of four paper chinese lanterns to hang from the awning yet.  They had a nice bamboo curtain with a palm tree painted on it, thought it would look good hanging over the door of the pup, but for the life of me, I can't remember if the screen door opens to the outside or inside.  If it opens to the inside, I could hang it on the outside, but would be a bit of a pain if the door opens to the outside.  If I wasn't so lazy, I could just open the camper and look, but figured I'd ask the forum....

Thanks,
Allan

Hello, My Bayside opens to the outside, should be the same for yours.

I'm 99.9% certain they all open to the outside.

Now that I've posted that, someone will post that their 1971 Blavand Special opens to the inside. :D

My 2002 Coleman Tahoe opens out too.  :D

Here's a pic of a 2002 Taos. Maybe that'll jog some grey matter :p

Hey there Allan!
My Tucson pu looks just like your Taos (wavery's pic). My pu opens to the outside... dh kept slamming the door & I kept yelling "Quit slamming the damn door!" :swear: ... so, I remember! Regardless of how the door opens you could always hang the palm tree curtain as a sun shade... roll it up or down depending on the sun factor and I think it would look real nice. Very tropical...
What size box is the Taos? Features?  My Tucson is an 8' box, 1 full and 1 twin bunk, AC w/heat strip, 3-way fridge, 2 burner stove and (hand pump) sink. It's perfect for 2. Took out the interior table and used it outside under the awning - more room inside the camper & a "kitchen" area outside.

Stuart... as in Florida?  Are we neighbors?????  (I live in W. Palm Beach!)

Auston I think you are right about that Blavand does open to the inside, but every PU I have seen the door opens to the outside.:)

Thanks, all.  I've only had the unit opened one time and just could not remember.

Madkatz:
I believe that the Tucson is the same unit.  Fleetwood doesn't use the coleman name anymore, and I believe they changed the model name from Taos to Tucson.  We are neighbors, Wife and I reside in Port St. Lucie.  Used to live in North Palm.

Looked at your pics, What campground did you stay at in the Keys?  We may go sometime this year, but need a campground that is dog friendly... Got 3 of em, but only one is of any real substantual size.

Knights Key Campground, Marathon - right next to the 7 mile bridge. My sister brought her 2 dogs, leashed or hooked up to a ground line. If you go, you better go soon - I heard they have sold the land and condos are going up  . The Keys are changing rapidly... and not for the good!
Know of any good places to go around So Fl that you can camp on/near the beach? Two weeks ago was our maiden voyage, broke in the new pu so I don't know where to go yet. Was hoping to go over to the Ft Myers/Sanibel area. Red Coconut RV Park (Ft Myers) has beach sites, but they are probably all booked up until the year 2010!    Bahia Honda & Pennecamp - sold out until Sept. Sebastian Inlet has a campground - know if its any good? I didn't realize how popular camping was until I tried to do it!

We also live in Port St. Lucie. We have'nt taken the PUP to the beach yet but you might want to check out Log Key SP. We tented there years ago and the sites are on the water.

Port St. Lucie representin'!!!!   Wish I could help with campground recomendations, but haven't had the pup out of the driveway yet.  Got reservations at Johnathan Dickenson State Park near Hobe Sound for Memorial Day weekend.  We will probably plan something for Orlando this year also, promised the wife I'd take her to dizzyworld sometime.  If I take her there, she's supposed to take me to Enchanted Kingdom next time we are in Manila.

Oops! Yes it's Long Key, I was typing too fast again. I only use two fingers, I'm slow, and I still mess it up... Oh well.
