Condensation in Awning

Howdy,

I'm a newbie to this forum and have a question.

When my awning is rolled up inside the storage pouch, it gets soaking wet from condensation.
When it rolled back out at the next trip, it's all wet and some mold has occurred due to not getting any air.

Has anyone found a cure for this?

Are you sure the awning is dry when you roll it up at the end of your camping trips?  Sometimes the awning can have dew on it on the morning of a nice day, but it's still damp.  Unroll it at home and let it dry through and afternoon, then re-roll it.

The awning is dry when put away and I've even unrolled it when I got home to make sure it's dry before putting it back in the pouch.

It seems to collect moisture during storage.

It could be simply moisture in the air condensing during the night, and there may not be much you can do about it.

As for getting the mildew/mold off, there are 2 ways:

1) While camping with another group, I decided to scrub my awning.  After about an hour, it was looking good.  When I was done, then a neighbor noticed what I was doing and told me about method #2 (not tried yet):

2)  Make a solution of dish soap (not dishwasher machine), not sure how strong.  Wet the entire awning, both sides.  Roll it up.  Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.  Unroll it and hose it off.  Supposedly this will remove mildew!

For method 2 you need to add some bleach to the mixture.
 
As for condensation inside your awning when it is rolled up, you would have to get moist air inside the rolled up awning to have condensation.  It is more likely rain in getting in or you could have water in the awning legs and that could be putting the water inside the bag.  I get a little water in my bag, but only after it rains.
