I received my RVE yesterday, and today I had a chance to sit down and scan through it. I've already posted my opinion of the magazine elsewhere on this forum. However, after reading the article "For Alex" I felt compelled to write this.

I'm sure that publisher's of magazines receive hundreds if not thousands of stories similar to "For Alex". There is always a great temptation to avoid publishing such articles, feeling that it would "open the flood gates" of "tribute articles" and having to turn you backs just out of pure numbers.

This article touched me deeply, not because I am in a similar situation. Far from it!. It got me in my "Grandpa" heart. I have a grandson about the age of Alex, and he has become quite the "camper". From now on, when I get the urge to feel that I don't want him to go camping with me, I will turn to this article and remind myself of how wonderful grandchildren can be...

My Hat's off to you, Bob and your staff for having the insight and courage to give this article to us in a most appropriate and prominent place in RVE. Bless you, RVE and CajunCamper for sharing Alex with us....

Well said.  For those of us that were around a few years ago, we knew what was happening with Alex, and it is good to see that the family is able to keep going.
