Also new to this forum. husband, daughter and I camp everywhere in the New England region. I've camped all my life and got  my husband hooked on it 12 years ago. We are planning to do alot of weekend camping this summer maybe we'll cross paths. We always enjoy meeting people when we camp.

We are from MA.  We mainly camp at KOA's in Maine and NH.  We have been to the Littleton KOA in NH, the Freeport, Saco and Bar Harbor KOA's in ME and the Cape Cod Camp Resort.  We are doing the Free camp weekend at the Freeport KOA on May 12.  We are also considering Lake George in July.  We are also making our annual Labor Day weekend journey to the Bar Harbor KOA.

That CG in VT sounded pretty cool.  If you have pics I would love to see them.  I have been looking for some nice spots in the Green Mtn state.

Hi Renee,
Sorry I didn't see you post sooner. I'm from Massachusetts in Boston and I have camped at Pine Haven, several times actually. I haven't camped there in several years though. We camped there when my family was still tenting. They had some great sites down by the river nice and semi wooded (by that I mean you were not on top of the next guy.). It wasn't my first choice when we moved up to a PU. I thought that some of the w/e sites that were available (the others taken up by seasonals) were kind of close together and not wooded. But I'm kind of picky when it comes to campgrounds. If I know my family and I will be staying for some time (We usually don't go if it's not for at least 3 or more days.) and it's local I try to check the place out. Alot of times in the past we camp somewhere in NH and ride to check out other campgrounds while we are in the general area.
When we camped there there was an amateur race track next store and all the locals would race there. I forget what kind of racing it was called. It was an oval dirt track. It was pretty exciting and fun for the kids and something to to on a summer night.
Again I haven't been there in several years. I checked their site and saw that the campground hadn't changed much. A couple of years back I was checking to see if maybe they had put w/e down on those sites that I liked but they hadn't. So I moved on.
I know of a good campground that I like that's close to Boston for a quick get away. It's called Exeter Elms Family campground. We have gone there quite a bit when we stay local. Other wise we pack up for a longer trip North.

Let me know if I can be of help in your travels.

Mike

Hi Renee,
Yes the site is //www.exeterelms.com/ We like this campground because it is close to Massachusetts no real long trips. They have good sites (wooded), clean bathrooms and activities. I'm sure you have a New Hampshire Campground Owners guide they have a website with a lot of links //www.ucampnh.com/
Happy Camping.

Hi, I'm looking for any ideas you can give me on campgrounds that are beachfront or near the beach in MA/CT/RI/or southern NH....  We do a family reunion weekend camping trip each year and I am trying to make everyone as happy as possible...this year was requested to be near the ocean...if possible but lake/riverfront is ok too...  usually we reserve 8 w/e sites (though I'm the only one with a pop up the rest are tents) and one full service cabin...
We did Pine Acres in Oakham (which is lakefront) in the past....we are from Western Mass so trying to keep driving under 2 hrs if possible...
ANy suggestions on good, clean campgrounds welcome!!!

Hi,
Check out the previous post. I might suggest Exeter Elms Family Campground.
It is on a river (no swimming) but it is pretty close To Hamtom Beach.
