Hi all! I'm new here and just had a question. I've been a pop up camper for years with my family when I was little. Just had a little girl 7 months ago and would like to get her started early. My brother is selling his Coleman Santa Fe pop up. He said his bottom dollar is $5000. Do you think this is a good deal? I don't know how many feet it is. It's pretty big inside. It comes with an outside grill that attaches to the camper, it has the awning and bug screen, a furnace, fridge, all the standard stuff, electric brakes and I'm probably forgetting stuff. Oh he bought the 7 year extended warranty on it too and he said everything is covered 100%. He bought it brand new, used it a few times and that was it. It's a 2003 by the way. What does everyone think? I can't find a buying guide anywhere on line and the last camper my family owned was like a 1970 Steary or something like that but boy did we have fun in it! Oh it has cable hook up too and like a water holding tank for the sink if you want to bring your own water. It's got the fans and lights on each end for the beds and of course the standard table that turns into a bed etc. Thanks!  :tent:

You can always try //www.nada.com select consumer and then click on the Recreation Vehicles tab. Under used values you want to select Camping Trailers and from there select make model year and fill in the options.

Hello Heidi and welcome to PUT
The Santa Fe is a very popular floorplan and I am sure you would be happy with it. check out RV ONLINE TRADER Plug in your area and it will give you an idea what PU's are going for in your area.
Also check the home page of RV online, under RV Resource for NADA RV valves. plug in your brothers PU info and it will give you a blue book valve for it.
Hope you can work out the price and get your daughter out there camping.
You didn't mention what your TV is. so make sure your TV can handle this PU.
Good luck and again welcome.

TV? You mean what I'm pulling it with? That was another question. He pulls this with a little Blazer. We have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. Do you think this would pull it without any problems? It's a V6. I assumed it would as everytime I see a pop up on the highway it's being pulled by a minivan loaded down with kids and luggage! We always pulled our family PU with a pickup but that was before the minivan was around. My sister pulled their Palamino for years with an older Grand Caravan with no problems that I recall.

My dealer in PA sold the Santa Fe new in 2003 for under $6000.  That did not include AC/furnace/hot water/cassette toilet and other extras.  Is the warranty transferable?  Does it have the one piece ABS roof or the AlumiTite roof (it has tracks for a roof rack built in)?  The roof is only warranted by Fleetwood to the original owner.  Will the extended warranty cover a new roof if needed?  Good luck with the PU.:)

We bought a new 2006 Santa Fe in March for $7399.00 plus tax. It has all the same basics as you mentioned. No hot water, No shower, No cassette toilet.

I think your Dodge Caravan will handle it but don't go bigger with your TV.

For $5000 I think it may be a good deal for both of  you.

Small world...  I'm in SE Minnesota as well.  We bought a 1999 Coleman Santa Fe last summer for $3500 from a family who kept it in great shape.  I thought at the time it was more than a fair deal.  So basically, I bought a 6 year old Santa Fe for 3.5K and you would be buying about a 3 yr old one for 5K (your camper would have the screen room and elec. brakes that I do not have).  To me, it sounds like his price is reasonable.  This camper is a 10 footer with the ABS roof.  With it being a 2003 model, I think your chances are slimmer of having the problems that others have had with the ABS roof (I could be wrong on that one though...).  Good luck and have fun with whatever you buy!!!
