On my 92 Viking, my awning is leaking at the door (and a couple of other places) where it attaches to the pup.  Is there a fix for this or will it require replacing.  Or is this normal.

It just means they didn't do a great job of caulking between the awning rail and trailer. A beak of caulk on the upper side of the rail will fix it.

I also have the same problem.  What type of caulk would you recommend?

RTV silicone works, but I prefer a urathane caulk. Over time RTV silicone ends up looking dirty and the urathanes do not and will stick better.

Don't use a "house" caulk. Latex and acrylic additives that make them paintable also cause them to dry out over time and while fine on a stick built house, our moveable houses vibrate and will cause the caulks to crack and leak over time.

Urathane caulks are available at most RV dealers and marine stores. It will be more expensive, but in this case you do get what you pay for.
