West Coast Canuck

I only run my gen when I need to charge the battery, which is about 3 days, but I only do it during the day and not at quiet time around dinner......mine runs at a respectable 62 dbs and at 10' you can carry a normal conversation with no problems. I have a cheap 2000 watt chinese knock off that I bought new for $329.00 delivered to my door that I bought from BOSSTOOLSUPPLY.COM

I just ordered one with express shipping (2 day) for $243 here in the states ($199.97 for gen).  BargainOutfitters.com   Says they come with a 1 year warranty.  We are going on a 5 week trip and will definately need it to charge the batteries (can take one now).  I had just planned on using the TV for just lights (no battery installed in camper).  Worth the price even if it does quit after a year compared to a Honda of equavillent power.  If it doesnt go a year.  Just $40 (for both ways) for shipping will get a replacement.  :)

Howdy!

I am with a majority of the group on this issue, concerning generators and their noise levels...however, there are two sides to every issue, lol!

I guess the main concern is when and who gets to decide just what type of noise is to be allowed!

How about the AC on most units? Do we need to curtail those noisey contraptions?

We camped at a site that had a "group" of teenagers next door that played volleyball until well after the quite time cutoff, and they were extremely vocal and "expressive" the entire time! Or the campers that come in with the loud trucks and feel the need to drive around all night ...or those with small children, you know, the children that show that they are not having a good trip and let all campsites know it...and how about those with ATV's that need to adjust something on the ATV, so they sit on the ATV and just rev it up, over and over! Or the musical groups that play their stereos so loud that you can heat them 1/4 mile away!

We all camp for different reasons, and in different ways, with different equipment and make noise in different ways!

Who gets to decide just what items get to make noise and which ones we need to eliminate? Where do we draw the line?

I guess it all comes down to respect and consideration for your fellow campers...

I guess I will leave it up to the individual, because I know that I do not want anyone to tell me how I must camp...

:) Camp more...worry less!
