This is great as it is, but it is truly spectacular when you can answer, again and again "Yes, yes, yes!  I've seen that, and more."

Of the questions, I answered yes to twelve.  Of the photographs, I have seen 21 of the places illustrated.

I understand that not everyone is meant to travel.  But I can also tell you that as beautiful as America's scenic places are, it's her people that count the most.

Although the land we live in is the most beautiful in the world, it is people who make us strong.

From the Down Easter fisherman of Maine to the Southern Belle of Georgia, from the restaurant owner in Southern California to the Park Ranger in Montana, there are a lot of kinds of people here.

From the migrants from Mexico, Laos, Ireland, and Italy, to my own very old New England family, there are a lot of kinds of people here.

From Red states to Blue states, rich states to poor, despite how beautiful or ugly the land, WE are what make America what she is.  And though we don't always get along, and sometimes get downright angry with each other, like family, there's hardly a one of us who would not drop everything to stand up for our brothers.

This is why I love America.  Brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.
