Forgive the questions, but I am a new PUP owner and have been racking my brain to figure my awning out.  First of all, I have a '77 Starcraft Starmaster 6, no manuals, books or anything.  Just bought it from someone who knows nothing about what I need.  Supposedly, the awning was replaced 2 years ago.  Here are my questions:

1.  How do you set this thing up?  I have pulled it out once, it has two sets of posts...Looks like one set can connect to the camper, and one set goes to the ground.  Not at the same time of course.  However, setting it up seems to be no good, the slightest wind on either set up collapses it.  Also the posts of the other setup always falls out, nothing holds them in. The posts are expandable by unlatching and manually sliding, then latch them again.  No strings, ropes or anything.

On this issue, I have read the posts here about using flower pot bases and stuff, but that all seems to have ropes and stuff...any ideas.

2.  Is there a way I can find out who made this awning (the maker), I have been looking at maybe buying an add a room or screen room, but everything seems to be specific to the awning maker.

I appreciate any assistance.

I am going to assume that you have a standard bag awning.

Check out the instructions and photos on my Awning Base Web Page and see it the instruction match what you have.

Can you take pictures of the awning and post them so we can see it?:)

Your awning sounds like mine.  Two posts on mine have clips at the end that slide into a clip on the pup itself - just toward the door of the latches both front and rear.  There is a sliding metal bar that rolls up to install the clip and then down to keep it.  The other two poles go to the top of the awning, and hook into little loops inside the awning bag.  It forms a triangle - top of pup to awning end back to lower pup.  No bases on the ground.  I can try to get you a pic, as I'm sure we'll have the pup set up this weekend.

Check to see if you have the clips on the awning side of your pup - might explain another mystery.

Well, I think I may have to wait till August for this then because I am "camping" in Missouri right now in my parent's backyard.  My father can't help me get it down and back up again, and my DH won't be here till the middle of August to help me with something like that.  My father helped me once, but just the slight breeze was taking it away and we couldn't figure it out.  He is too old to help me, and I am too short to do it by myself.

Thanks for the heads up though.  I will postpone this question then till I can get pictures for you in August.  Any ideas though where I may be able to find a manufacturer when I get it down?

The replacement awning could have been made by many different companies.:)
