Just joined this morning (6am  :) )

I don't have a PU yet. Mainly because I am a single female, that owns a Saturn sedan, so PU's are very limited in what I can find.

I have been looking at the Livin' Lite Quicksilver, which is exactly what I want. I don't need the extra ammenities such as stove (will either cook on campfire or eat/take out), a shower/toilet (have no problems using a reg comfort station). I just am looking for something that is easy for one person (if possible) to put up, that just has nice up off the ground sleeping area, and a place to sit on days when the liquid sunshine decides to join in the fun :p, to read :book: , do puzzle book, play solitare etc.

Was wondering if any members here have one or know of anyone who has one and how they like/dislike them.  I have been scouring the internet for reviews other than on Livin Lites site (figure they may be biased). Though I love reg tent camping  :tent:  now that I am getting a bit older (45..46 in sept  :yikes: ), rolling off of a air mattress and getting up on my knees etc, just ain't cuttin' it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mel Welcome to PUT!  I can't help you with the small trailers you are looking for, but good luck on the hunt.  :)

Wow Mel, I'm impressed! Looks like you've done your research. I thought I had done a lot of research, but I'd never heard of these. Looks like a great option for our duaghter and son-in-law. Neither Have I seen any reviews or comment here. (I assume you did a search of the forum.) Best wishes!

I was really curious about the "Livin' Light" and checked out their website. This looks like a great setup, if it's as advertised. My only advice is to go the a dealership and have them pop one up for you, and then go through the setup on your own (with their supervision) and see if you can handle it on your own. I have trouble pulling the bunk ends and getting them bungied by myself they're pretty heavy when they're all bunched up), but I CAN do it if I have to (I usually have my grandkid crew on hand). The rest is pretty easy, except getting my back under the bunks to put up the supports. I'm 62 and flabby, but I can set up the popup by myself if I have to. Just be sure that you can put up the Livin' Light by yourself.

I checked out the Quicksilvers last year at the RV show and I liked them. They are very light weight, and seem very rugged. Too rugged for my DW. She prefers a few more comforts of home. We also both like the idea of a hard roof which the Quicksilvers don't have.

I liked them though and they seemed pretty nice. Not sure how much that helps for your decision making... I would definitly recommend checking out a dealer or an rv show that carries them.

Welcome Mel,

And luck in your search for the perfect (for you) pup. I have decided to build(or more appropriately rebuild) my own to my specs, as none out there was 'exactly' what I was looking for in a camper, although many of the new off road pup came real close.

Yes, bad weather is one of the reasons I love a pup, being up off the ground and no worries about water in a rainstorm unless I have really chosen a bad location to set up;) :D

I have (and still do) tent camped for years, at times it is still my choice for a quick weekend or overnight :tent: , but for longer stays, or those times I feel like a few more amenities I prefer a pup. Here in Texas, an AC can make the difference between a decent nights sleep and a night of sweaty tossing and turning come July/August/September, and often just the fact that you are raised off of ground enough to catch breeze through makes it ok without it.

Is also great to have a pup for those times when you're camping for an event or activity. I often meet up with folks at various mountain bike locations for the weekend, or for a dive weekend, and when the focus is the activity or event, is really nice to have the pup, more of a home away from home than a tent, nice to be able to finish days activity, open fridge, fix some supper on stove, wash the dishes, then watch a dvd on the laptop or check my email, as I lay on a nice large comfy bed wrapped in clean, crisp sheets. No, it is not exactly roughing it, and some won't even admit it is camping(I feel that way about class A's and bigger C's), but if I feel like roughing it I have my backpacking gear and do still enjoy really getting away from it all at times. The pup is for those times I want to get away from home, and enjoy the outdoors without exactly bunking on ground with the critters. Sort of a nice budget room that always is located convenient to what your doing.

Thanks for the welcome.

I think reason I have been having problems finding info on the Livin Lite, is because it is new, possibly 2005.

I have a couple places here that have them, and will go check them out, just to see what they look like in person. Hopefully next winter when Columbus has their RV and Boat show, they will have some there also, and maybe by then I will have made my decision on them, and try and make a deal  :) .

I have found a couple other small PUP, but I still like this Quicksilver most. I won't need it til next summer anyways lol. That will give me time to test it out before a big planned trip to WDW in fall of 2007 (which right now is a reg tent trip).

What can I say, I am just a simple woman  :p
