Anybody know how to do this to a wire end? It is 3/32" wire rope (cable), and I need to put this on the end. It looks like a large piece of lead shot on the end, but I don't thin it is lead, because it doesn't seem very soft like lead would be. It looks like it has been "melted" on there, because the very end is covered as well. It is camping related, but I can't tell you how (yet).

I have been to Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, and a Bike Shop. No luck.

It almost looks like a bike brake cable. What is it used for? I've seen them before but I can't for the life of me remember where. If I remember I'll get back to ya. Good luck

I also thought it looked like the end of a bike brake cable, but they are oblong and not round.  What is the cable for?

I also thought "Bike brake cable..."  but it is not.

I may have seen such ends on guitar strings, but that is one heck of a guitar string...would break the neck of any guitar I ever owned...maybe an electric bass?

Well....It does go on a popup lift system. Most of you know that we don't have a popup with the traditional lift system. More details about what is going on at a later date. We are still camping in our Palomino, and probably will be for at least another year. Like I said...More details later.

Anyway, I did go to the bike shop, thinking what you guys are thinking. Their wire is much smaller, and it is a barrel-shaped terminator. For my needs, it needs to rotate.

Looks like the throttle cable off old ('50-'60s) Britsh bikes. Carve the shape out of wood, mold with lead. Top post off junk batt will give you enough material.
