We're fine here.  Damage areas seem to be East of us.

good to know we still have a rally place

The rally's fine.  We've had some heavy rains, the rivers are running high at the moment, but I haven't heard of any high water conditions or flooding locally.  Everything's good to go here.  I hope everyone else is safe.

It is flooding all over around here.  The Susquehanna is flooding everywhere, but not as much as they thought, but still enough to flood streets and basements, and the Swatara Creek is over it's banks and causing lots and lots of problems too.  DD and I went to Sam's yesterday, and it usually takes about 13 minutes to get home....we decided to go a different way home as the traffic on 322, the only open road into Hershey due to the flooding, was like a parking lot.  We ended up taking about 45 minutes and many miles as each turn we took ended up with a bridge closed due to flooding.  Finally we found a conveluted way home, but it is a mess around here.

Here's what you get in my neck of the woods (Phillipsburg/Easton).

Although, for some inexplicable reason, they have no pictures of the carnage. What good is a story like this without pics???

However, there are some pics here. Scroll down to the "Thursday Flooding" link in the Slideshow box. The ones from Easton are around me.

Though we are close to the Delaware River, we are OK, I saw both the Susquehanna and Swarta creeks yesterday and today as we went and came back from Pittsburgh, the tree braches were in the water, no tree trunks to be seen..that is high.

Where we had breakfast this morning could not use their credit card thingee and had to do it by hand as they got struck by lightening last night, must have blown the modem that sends the information back and forth, we had no lightening where we were in New Stanton, but then again, we did not get there until after 10:00 last night.

Well everyone, I may not be online that much for awhile.  I was having a new roof put on my house and the roofer never covered it while we were away on vacation.  Needless to say, my house is trash.  They will most likely have to take it all down to studs.  So right now I don't know where I will be living or when I will have email at a home again.  My plans are still to see everone in september.  Take care and God bless to all.

Dave,
Looks like the weather pattern is changing. I heard about the tornado that touched down East of your area. Hope all is well and drying out nicely. Looking forward to the rally.

I just checked weather.com, we're showing mid 80's for highs and about 60 for lows from Sat until Wed. (the last day they have predictions at this point).  Scattered thunderstorms are showing for Tuesday and Wednesday, but that's just about a standard, everyday forecast for around here.  I don't get concerned about weather until they issue a severe weather alert.  We haven't had rain here for about a week with thunderstorm predictions through most of that time.  We're under severe weather alert right now, the sky is cloudy and not much wind right now.  We'll see what happens.

I heard something about a tornado, we think it might have been in the Buffalo area, about 2 hours away.  It's uncommon to have that happen around here, too many hills.

Scott I read the other post first and thought you had flood damage. Now I see it was stupid concreter damage. I hope they do the right thing and take full responsibility for the damage. Where are you guys staying?

Holy crap, that's unbelievable!!  :yikes:  I assume you lost all of your possessions as well? That's absolutely horrible -- you must be livid. Good luck getting it all straightened out.

We're about to have our roof replaced but will wait until vacations are done. I hope you put the guy out of business so he doesn't do that to someone else. ANything we can do, please let us know.

Hello everyone, We finally got a mobile home put on our back lot this weekend and moved into that.  This gives us the opportunity now to start working on our house again, that is after his insurance company finally comes out ( hopefully later this week ).  Until then we are kind of in a holding pattern.  I did manage to hook up the phone line ( and dsl ) into the mobile home so from time to time I can get back on to chat.  I want to thank everyone so much for the concern and offers.  As someone who is use to helping others it was a really weird feeling to be the one offered help.  Between the postings and the emails you guys sent with words of encouragement, your timing was always perfect.  Thanks again.

Ps.  I think my wife figured out that there are 8 walls in the whole house that at least one side of drywall is still on.  That kind of gives you an idea of where it ended.  Ironically, those are the ones I will be changing myself.  LOL.
