Catskill Game Farm Closing...

Hey all!

Well if you're from upstate NY, or ever vacationed in the Catskills, then you know what the Catskill Game Farm is... Closing day is 10/09/06 after being in business for 73 years. Anyone else been there??  I know my first time there was a second grade field trip!

This is so sad, but a reflection of our times. Kids want action stuff to do.

My family went there quite often when I was a youngster, baby infact I was told. It was one of my favorite vacation areas. We live only about an hour away, so close and not expensive. If my parents were alive, they would be crushed over this. A few years ago now, the 1000 Animals in the Adirondacks closed. That was a shock when my wife and I drove by and it was deserted. My last visit, the monkeys were taking over. The trainer was in their cage for the 2:00 show, and that must have been the time the monkeys decided to start their own Planet of the Apes. The trainer was cut pretty bad by the time they got him out of the cage. An hour later, we could still here the monkeys carrying on.

Sorry, babblinig again. I promised myself I wouldn't do this.  :confused:

Oh No!!!

It kinda figures...  We just bought the pop up this year, and we have already camped 3 times at places that were not too far from the GF. We didn't go because camping is still new to us, and the kids are excited to hang around a CG now.  I remember telling my DH that we would go next year, or even the year after if we needed a diversion.  

Oh well....
