Hello everyone!

I am new to pop ups. I am used to camping in tent on the cold ground.

How many out there have older pop ups? I just got an older Steury and it is really nice. The couple that I got it from did not use it very often and they had it since the early 80's. I am still waiting for the title for it to find out the exact model year but we beleive that it is 1974. I see that some of you have newer Steury trailers. Any pics??? I think that the older ones have alot of charm and chacter.

My wife and I had a 1st child 7 weeks ago and we can't wait to start memories with camping.

Quite a few have older classic pop-ups on here.
I have two older models, a 74 Apache Mesa Solid state pop-up (ABS plastic, no canvas) and a 1969 Se Woods tent trailer.
I am always tinkering at them, they are fun to restore and camping in them is fun, we get a lot of people wandering over to ask about the campers.
I just got the box on the tent trailer painted today, it was a drab grey now it is primrose yellow, the canvas is Green so it is a Rhubarb and custard theme  :D
Might get a pic of it tomorrow when i get the canvas back on  :)

I will have to get pics of mine also. It still has the striped sides.  :D The previous owners said that they always had people asking about it. I have been thinking that I should keep the canvas on it but all the windows are brown and torn.

Looking forward to using it!

We have a '71 Bethany Citation 86 that I just finished remodeling.  The best thing about mine is that I only have about $500 invested in the entire deal.
PIcs here.

Here is my 1969 SeWoods Adventurer with its new yellow paint.

looking forward to seeing the pics of it.
A good canvas repair shop can probably replace the windows and screens if the rest of the fabric is good.
There was  a 1970 Steurry on ebay just recently that still had the striped fabric, it looked in great shape, wish i had snagged a few of the pics.

My Edit, i did download a pic of it!
It was a 72 and had this great awning attached.

I saw that one on Ebay also. Mine looks almost the same, I have round taillights though. I have $300 in the trailer and a trip to Walmart so far. I think that is just the begining :D So many mods so little time.

I have it stored about two hours away so reading fourms makes it rough. I want to work on it. I will also have to get some pics of it so show everyone!

Greetings!

I purchased a 1976 Coleman Gettysburg about 2 years ago and we have really enjoyed it alot:)

We have just returned from a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and the PU did great! It was a 1,050 mile trip one way and I could not even tell the PU went with us...pulled just great! This was not the first out of state trip for our PU so we are getting our money's worth out of it!

Our new canvas top (from Bear Creek) should be here in two more weeks (2 months total) and then we will have a NEW camper!

The best camper anyone can have is one that they use!

I have  1974 Nimrod just got it this year for free..took it out one time and i am going again next week.

i think its great here are the pics...

I've got a 1982 Viking Little Gasser 16 foot that we are restoring.  The roof will hopefully be back on in a week or 2 after being rebuilt. My parents bought it new back in '82 and it has not been camped in since '87.
Here are some pictures of it a few weeks ago as we pulled it out of the garage (less roof).

Well I finaly got the time and the chace to get some pictures of my old Steury. It is a model S800D. I was able to install a porch light, remove the ice box and replace it with a dorm fridge and replace some of the wiring. I still have to install my deep cycle battery but I have to find a spot since I have dual propane tanks.

Dane, that camper is awesome! :-()
Looks like it just came out of the factory.
I like the way all the details can be seen still intact and original just like the pics in the Steury Advert.

Dane,
You brought back so many memories for me. My parents also owned the 800D series, double dinette. We had 6 kids so we all needed a place to eat and sleep. I am also from MN, it appears the midwest is the only place I have seen Stuerys. Don't you just love the stripes?

My father owned a plastics business in Mankato so he would schedule his sales conventions and our vacations together and we would tag along with the Stuery behind our 1971 Ford LTD. Needless to say I have been to all the states except Washington and Hawaii. What great memories we have.

You have done a great job. Enjoy your camping adventures.
Take care.

The couple that I got it from said that they bought it back in 1981 or so and they are from Bloomington. So who knows it may have belonged to someone on the forum.
