Rough Apache

Hi,  

Not sure if this is where I belong.  Been years since I was logged on.  I have owned two Coleman popups and a Starcraft hybrid, divorce, hard times, yada yada.  I am starting over with new wonderful family and longing for the camping scene again.  I am looking into an old Apache hard side that a friend fell into a while ago.  He doesn't know anything about them and I don't know too much either.  Besides the obvious like the lifting mechanism and the condition of the panels, does anyone know what I should look for?  His asking price is next to nothing but I don't want to get in over my head as far as trying to find parts and help.

Any suggestions would be welcome.  Thanks in advance.

i ALSO JUST BOUGHT A 1970 HARD SIDE APACHE. THERE IS AN APACHE WEB SITE THAT HAS ALL KINDS OF INFO ON IT. JUST USE SEARCH ENGINE FOR APACHES POPUPS.  PARTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE. THE PLASTIC INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR CAN BE CLEANED LIKE NEW WITH A GOOD SPRAY OF WINDOW CLEANERAND A  SPRAY.  MIX A 50/50 MIX OF WATER AND WESLEY'S TIRE BLEACHE WHITE. BUY IT AT WALLY WORLD. GOOD LUCK
