We are BORG. Resistance is futile.

After a long period of resistance, I now have one of those Bluetooth headsets.  We changed cell phone plans, and the only way to get a hands-free device was to give in and get a bluetooth thingie that sticks on your ear.

I thought, "I'll only wear it when I'm on a call."  But then what do I do with it the rest of the time?  The cell phone holsters don't have a place for the earpiece.  I can't put it in my pocket - it would end up with the buttons being pushed.  This is terrible.  The best place to store it is on my ear. :swear:

PJay has one as well.

We are BORG.  Resistance was futile.

They're nice except for those of us who wear hearing aids.Moose

One of the hardest things for me to adjust too in this high tech world, is people wandering around the isles of our local Wal-Mart talking away while there's no one near them. Until I discovered they had these secret ear pieces & microphones, I thought we simply had more and more people going daffy.

I guess that part was not such a shock to me.  The first time someone was chatting with a hands-free, I wrote them off as just another Bostonian with problems, until I saw the wire.

Nothing secret about mine. It is about 2" long, 3/4" high and 1/2" thick.  It is bright silver.  It looks like a BORG implant, expet that it's not surgically implanted (a.k.a an On-Plant).

PJay and I have identical On-Plants, so we look like a BORG Away Team when we're both wearing them.  :eyecrazy:

Gee you are taking away the privilege of talking to yourself and being noticed for it.  Soon the people that hear voices and talk to themselves will not be noticed.  Everyone will think they are high tech.:eyecrazy:

I think Regis Philbin and I are the only two left without even a cell phone.  I just believe in good ol' fashion sit-down-and-chat-on-the-phone.  I have enough tech stuff at work and don't want to be bothered with any of it at home.  Besides, I'm in the mountains alot where no reception has gone before...

Technically, you can add my wife to that list.

There is a cell phone in her purse (has been for 5 years).  She didn't want one; it is in my name... and basically worthless as I can never actually get ahold of her -- it is either not with her (left in the car), or the battery is dead, or she can't hear it ring since her purse is in the trunk and she has the radio on.

I think I did get through to her once, last February.

We were both shocked.

It is, obviously, for emergencies... though (as I keep telling her) what good is it if the battery is dead half the time???

She rarely uses more than 3 minutes per month.  Fortunately, it only costs $10/mo.
