I'm off the week between Christmas and New Years, since they close the University for the week.

MLK weekend is probably doable as well.

I think MLK day is the 15th, the third Monday in January.  Dademt suggested the 20th.  Is the 20th ok or should we look at the holiday weekend?:)

The holiday weekend might be more convenient.  If we're making a trip there, I'd like to have a bit more time to maybe see some other things along the way.  My impression is the MT would be close to the city, and we'd be able to get to Manhattan and MT on the same trip.  I've got to check dates, calendar, DW etc. though before committing.  We need to vendor at a Bridal Fair at the local mall on a weekend in early Jan. to be able to book wedding dates for the upcoming summer.  I believe that would be the weekend before, but I'd want to know definitely.  I'll check and post back soon.

Actually MLK would be better as the kids would be off of school.  That would be a great idea.

OK gang, is Saturday January 13th a date that will work for everyone?  Does anyone that is interested in going have a conflict at this point in time?:)

SheBantam

The show on Saturday the 13th is at 7:00 which is iffy for me since I don't do much driving at night anymore, we are talking about 2 hours of night driving home... I will have to see.

Dave you are correct, it is near the City.  It is at the Meadowlands which is west of The City.  I was there (at the meadowlands) a few years ago to see and hear Binny Hinn.

I've been wanting to go - there is one down just below Balitmore that is closer to my neck of the woods (I live in Manassas, VA).  I would dress up because I was in the SCA (living re-enactment type thing) and I go to the MD Renaisance faire. Haven't been to the PA ren faire but really wanna go next summer.  I like camping at this nice little campground (White Oak campground) in PA Dutch country in Strasburg. I took my son to see Thomas the Tank engine. The Amish girls brought their baked good for sale; oh wow!! YUM YUM  :D
It was a good trip.. :S
Would love to go there again...

Hi Shelly, that MT is about as far for me, but if I can't do the night show in NJ, maybe you and I (and anyone else in the "southern" contingent) could get together for an afternoon show (I know in NJ the Sunday show is at 4:00 so I am assuming that Baltimore does too) sometime this winter at Baltimore.

I do not do SCA, but I have a really neat personna, that I use when on another (non-camping) board. I spent a fortune in the last year and have a whole wardrobe and very few places to wear them...Legolas take me away...(LEGOLAS, the "real" one, NOT Orlando Bloom)

From what I hear from people here at work who have been to the one in Orlando, only the employees dress up, so I guess it is street clothes for me...poooooh.

FYI, Tracy my office is in the same complex, you can catch the metro bus # 190 or 191 @ the intersection and be in the city at the Port Authority in under 10 minutes, you can purchase a ticket on the bus but you must have exact change, I think it's $ 3.75. Also there is a Court Yard in the same complex which is nice if your looking to stay overnight, then catch the bus for a day of sight seeing !

Thanks for the information.  I don't know if I will do it as a day trip or look for a place to stay overnight.  I don't know the area at all.:)

I'll bet Dee knows the area and if available would give Sunday tours if you choose to stay.

Adam, how late do buses run? The show starts at 7:00 means it ends at about 10:00 PM. Parking is good (plentyful at least) around the Meadowlands or at least in the Meadowlands.

Hi Guys,

Here is the link and schedule of the #191 bus that runs from the corner of Polito, Lyndhurst, NJ  http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0191.pdf  there is plenty of parking.  Also if the Court Yard is to pricey there is also a Quality Inn on the corner. Also if your looking for place to meet and mingle before or after the show I can suggest the Bar in my office Bldg. http://www.whiskeycafe.com/
