Might be coming early Sat morning rather than Friday night...Drew has something he needs to attend Friday night (but this may change).  Didn't want you all' to think I bailed if I am not there Friday night.

I will bring donuts if I end up coming Sat morning instead :)  Plus the chili....making that tonight......:)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around. Have a great time without me. I'll be thinking of you. Busy this weekend here. Have a family function on Sat but not sure if I'm going to make it or not. Also have to take J into NYC. Homecoming game and dance. Soccer game. Basketball. The usual crammed packed weekend. Also have to clean up and buy a bed (Courtney took hers to school). My mom is coming for a visit in a week and I have no place to put her...BTW, thanks to all for letting me know you were thinking of me. I appreciate it  :D .

My friend cannot come now, she is in the middle of a big programming intiative and they now declared the next couple of weekends as mandatory OT.

Raymond is not coming, at least for the first part, he may come in on Sunday if it looks like it will warm up.

So I am bachloretting it...again...

Turkey is in the cooler, along with some (not a lot of each) trimming I made last weekend and froze, Cranberrys, apple and orange are in the cooler also to make relish.

Anyway trailer and van are packed, the 30 amp ext. cord is on the minivan, the minivan is here at work.

I forgot the rotisserie, so Raymond is going to bring it and put it in the minivan sometime this morning, I work less than 2 miles from home, so it is not as big a trip for him as it would have been to bring it to French Creek.

Drew & I had a nice time with everyone and enjoyed the great meal & fire Sat night!

We will see you all' in the late spring...early summer....

Have a good winter & holidays!

It was a beautiful weekend at French Creek.  I went to the campground Thursday after work and there were only 7 or 8 campsites in use.  None of them were close to my site, so it was nice and quiet.  The moon was getting close to full and bathed the area in moon light.  I took a late walk around part of the campground and there were many deer in the area.  The back of my camper faced east and when the sun came up Friday (and Saturday) morning I had the curtains open and the sun baked the inside of the PU.  It was a nice to to kick back and read.  With one electric heater running it was close to 80 degrees in the PU Friday morning.  I did have my insulation panels in the front bunkend and my Pop Up Gizmo's over the bunkends.  We had a great pot luck dinner Saturday night.  I want to especially thank Paula for cooking a turkey for the dinner.  It was overcast this morning, but then the sun came out and it was another great day.  Sara thank you for picking this great weekend for out trip.  Coming home the full moon was up reflection across the Susquehanna River.  It looked almost magical.:)

Yes it was beautiful, cold but otherwise very nice. We kept a fire going a lot of the time...finally used up the wood from Watkin's Glenn, that I bought in 2005, and the wood from last year at Elk neck...I don't do fires often...and with the minivan and Cabin A there just is not any room.

I am home a day early, it was so coooold and I got so lonely.  So I packed up and came home this morning, with everyone gone it was just not as much fun.

the couple that moved into Sara and Noel's space are camp hosts in the White Mountains in NH, Arptil thru Oct and on their way to Landenburg PA (near me) to work on a Christmas Tree Farm.  They are originally from Coatsville.  Then in January they have a job in Georgia, then will be back up in the National Park come April...What a life...I have 4 more years of State work and I can retire.

He said they get paid $200/week plus the site with water and electric, and a honey wagon that also does the toilets. His wife also gets paid hourly for working the front gate.  With a pension, that is not bad at all...Raymond even perked up at that one...Now he REALLY wants to keep the Bantam, he says we could live in that 6 months a year...I do not know about "we", I could, alone, I know, with a few modifications. I just cannot see him sitting there for 6 months. He rarly makes a weekend.

The camper is packed for the winter, still have to winterize, but all my plumbing is by the door, so that will be a breeze.  I came home, backed the camper in it's hole and emptied the minivan of the camping gear. It all fit nicely in the Cabin A.   I will have to move a couple of duffles to get to the bathroom and sink...oops I forgot to by pass the water heater, so nix that about being easy, I will have to move EVERYTHING as the water heater is in the front corner...oh well the best laid plans of mice and men... actually all I will have to do is move the sterlite drawers to the other seat, and move the chairs and table, and stand the hex shelter up for a minute, so it really will not be that bad.

REMEMBER TO VOTE TOMORROW!!!

Paula I am sorry I forgot to say good bye to you.  As late as it was getting I needed to get home.  I am sorry that you came home early.  I wish I would have talked to the NH campers.  That is where I plan to go next summer.:)
